WINDOWS 10: WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH PAINT!!!!!!
Windows 10 shock as Microsoft confirms it's ditching
one of its most iconic features!!!!!!!
WINDOWS 10 will fragment one of its
most enduring features in Microsoft's next creators update with Microsoft Paint
being consigned to the history books.
Microsoft paint will no longer
be a staple addition to future iterations of the Windows Operating System, and
people are already mourn it.
Paint has run for 32 years on this
system and has been a core feature since Windows 1.0, but Microsoft has added
it to a list of 'depreciated' apps which will no longer be included with
Windows 10.
According to Microsoft, the app is
“not in active development and might be removed in future releases.”.
Microsoft is not leaving us up the
creek, however, as the classic Paint will simply be incorporated with Paint 3D,
and wholly new editing app for Windows users.
If classic Paint is something you
can't set to lose, you'll be happy to hear that Microsoft will still allow
you to use the beloved app somewhere else.
In a recent blog post, Microsoft stated that they would be including
Microsoft Paint as a downloadable feature from the Windows store. They said: “We’ve seen an incredible outpouring of support and nostalgia around MS Paint.
“If there’s anything we learned, it’s that after 32 years, MS Paint has a lot of fans. It’s been amazing to see so much love for our trusty old app.
“Amidst today’s commentary around MS Paint we wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight, clear up some confusion and share some good news.
“MS Paint is here to stay, it will just have a new home soon, in the Windows Store where it will be available for free.”
So, if you were truly devastated by Microsoft's news, fear not, you'll be able to get it back.
The US technology firm will also add features in their next update which will help protect you from the current ransomware scourge plaguing the internet.
Microsoft is responding to ransomware attacks by allowing you to hide your files from potential attackers.
In a recent blog post to Windows Insiders, Microsoft has revealed that it will implement ‘controlled folder access’ to protect files from ransomware attacks.
The new feature will automatically monitor files that are deposited in protected folders and will notify you via the desktop if any dodgy apps attempt to make changes, the offending app will then be blacklisted.
This effectively denies hackers the chance to attach the ransomware to certain important files.
The controlled folder access automatically comes with a default list of important files that will be protected, but you can add the folders you want.
